MOTION NO. 14

MOTION: Councillor Alan Hayes

That the Chief Executive undertake an audit of traffic movements, including speed, between the entrance/exit points of the Oval/R148 and Wheatfield road/Kennelsfort road junction to present engineering solutions to the long standing issues affecting the inner cell of Palmerstown.

REPORT:

SDCC will be preparing a Sustainable Transport Plan during 2020. The study will look at existing and proposed movement and mobility patterns throughout the county.

The study will inform detailed local area studies and advise on the types of measures that may be implemented to support a sustainable Transport Plan. 

There have been previous studies and surveys of this area and it has in the past proven impossible to reach any consensus as to remedial measures.  

If the Members are in agreement and subject to the results of our 2020 Traffic Calming Public Consultation process, part of the 2020 Traffic Calming Budget could be spent on appropriate agreeable measures.
