MOTION NO. 7

MOTION: Councillor F. Timmons

"To ask the Chief Executive to issue a report into the increased traffic in the whole of the Clondalkin area and include the following areas in particular: Monastery Road Clondalkin, Main Street Newcastle and Main Street Rathcoole?  What plans have South Dublin County Council got in place to alleviate congestion? What new roads or schemes are planned? Does South Dublin County Council consider the adverse effect on Mental Health with increased traffic and difficulties getting out of some estates in a lot of areas in the Clondalkin area. To ask the Chief Executive to make a statement on this?  With the increased Housing applications, will Planners look at and consider our roads network?"

REPORT:

South Dublin County Council will be preparing a Countywide Mobility Strategy during 2020. The study will look at existing and proposed movement and mobility patterns throughout the county.

The study will inform detailed local area studies and advise on the types of measures that may be implemented to support a sustainable Mobility Policy.
