MOTION: Councillor T. Gilligan

"That this Area Committee request to change the speed ramps on Woodford Walk to full ramps. It's a 50km speed limit and it is also a 7.5ton weight limit which is totally ignored by some drivers."

REPORT:

The Pillows are 1.8m wide which was the appropriate width at the time they were installed.

As this is a bus route, it is more appropriate to use Pillows instead of Ramps because of the cost associated with large platform Ramps appropriate to Bus routes.

The Pillows can be widened to 2.1m to make them more effective in slowing traffic and this will be submitted to the Traffic calming programme for 2020.

Finally, if there is a 7.5T limit, this is the maximum laden weight of through traffic. Please note that Delivery Vehicles, Bin Lorries, Buses, Fire Engines and other vehicles greater than 7.5T with business to perform in the area are exempt from the 7.5T prohibition.
