QUESTION NO. 1
QUESTION: Councillor T. Gilligan
"Can the Chief Executive please replace the kissing gate at Cappaghmore? There are a lot of elderly users and a lot of people in wheelchairs. It is difficult for them to get through it?"
REPLY:
The access point from Cappaghmore Estate to Lucan/Newlands Road has been fitted with a vehicle control gate designed to provide universal access for pedestrians, wheelchairs and prams. The opening of the gate takes cognisance of wheelchair access requirements and is constructed in a manner that facilitates it while restricting access for motorbikes, quads and horses. The location will be assessed for suitability to ensure that it is compliant. If it is found to be non-compliant it will be modified as required.
