MOTION: Councillor Alan Hayes

That this combined Area Committee acknowledge and support the excellent work undertaken at Waterstown Park by the staff of South Dublin County Council as evidenced by the awarding of the coveted Green Flag standard.

REPORT:

The Green Flag is awarded in recognition of achieving quality standards for the presentation of parks and recreation facilities. It promotes high horticultural and environmental standards and is a benchmark for excellence in park management based on acknowledged international best practice.

The gratitude of the elected members is welcomed and subject to the passing of the motion, it will be extended to the staff and volunteers who help to make Waterstown Park a destination location.
