QUESTION: Councillor E. O'Brien

To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the installation of electronic gate at the entrance to Griffeen Valley Park at Hayden's Lane

REPLY:

The motors for the gates were installed during the summer. The duct route for the power supply was provided by the ESB. The route is somewhat complex due to the number of services in the vicinity of the supply and this has hampered the laying of ducts. The option of a direct bore is currently being examined. Once the ducts are in place the power supply cable will be installed and the electrical elements of the gate will be commissioned. Following this, the ESB will inspect the connections and if they are satisfied, they will provide power. It is hoped to have the gates in operation before the year end.
