QUESTION: Councillor Shane Moynihan

To ask the Chief Executive whether he is aware of any approach by an approved housing body to take ownership of 85 housing units being constructed at the site beside Milford Manor at Cloverhill Road, Raheen, Dublin 22 (planning reference number SD17A/0397). 

REPLY:

The Council received an expression of interest from an Approved Housing Body for the acquisition of 85 residential units on Cloverhill Road under planning reference SD17A/0397.  An assessment was made by this Council of the housing need in the area, suitability of the development for social housing, and resource capability of the Approved Housing Body to manage and maintain a development of this size. On consideration of these details, the Council gave its support in principle to the Approved Housing Body to acquire these units for social housing delivery. The Approved Housing Body must seek funding approval to acquire these units from the Department of Housing.
