That the Chief Executive produce a report for discussion on the provision of a playing pitch on Letts Field?

REPORT:

The Part 8 proposal for social housing at Letts Field, Clondalkin was approved by Council in September 2015. During the Part 8 consultation period officials met with local elected members, representatives from St. Peters School and local residents to discuss the proposed social housing development which included the proposal for a junior playing field on the Letts Field site at the Neilstown Road side of the development.  The Part 8 approved project included the provision of a playing field. 

The construction of the 37 new social housing homes have been completed and are occupied. However, the surrounding landscape works which includes the junior playing field area is still not completed. The Council has been working over the last number of months with the contractor identifying the works that need to be carried out in order to complete the scheme.  A new subcontractor has recently been appointed to complete these works.  The Council will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that every effort is made to complete the surrounding landscape works including the playing pitch so that it can be utilised effectively for the school games practice, matches and local residents.
