QUESTION: Councillor G. O'Connell

To ask the Chief Executive to investigate the source of the odour and flies that appear to emanate, especially in warm weather and under certain wind conditions, from the (Greyhound) recycling facility in Craig Industrial Estate Clondalkin and which is a source of nuisance and health and safety concern to neighbouring residential areas and businesses

REPLY:

Greyhound Recycling and Recovery located at Crag Avenue, Clondalkin Industrial Estate is an Integrated Pollution Control (IPC) licensed site. The license number is W0205-01. The Environmental Protection Agency is the competent authority for granting and enforcing Integrated Pollution Control (IPC) licences in Ireland. All issues / complaints regarding pest control, noise, odour etc must be referred to the Environmental Protection Agency for investigation in line with license conditions. The Environmental Protection Agency can be contacted at 1850 365 121 which is the national environmental complaints line. There are conditions attached to the IPC License which cover flies and also odours associated with operations onsite.
