MOTION NO. 11

MOTION: Councillor P. Gogarty

That this Council identifies and gives outline commitment to providing a suitable long-term location for Esker Boxing Club (eg Lucan Sports and Leisure Centre building)  as this important community sporting group is coming to the end of its current lease and has ongoing problems with finding affordable accommodation and a suitable location to store its equipment on a long term basis.

 

REPORT:

This Council has engaged with Esker Boxing Club on a number of occasions over the past few months and is fully aware of both their circumstances and their future requirements.

I am exploring what potential options are available to support them in achieving a permanent home for the club. I appreciate that they are anxious to secure their future and I will be happy to meet with them when I have something additional and tangible to discuss with them.
