QUESTION NO. 32

QUESTION: Councillor Joanna Tuffy

To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the SDZ Planning Scheme for Clonburris. What is required under the plan for infrastructure and facilities and at what stages of the development are these required in particular the number of primary and post primary schools, and any community buildings, transport hubs etc.  For example is it expected that any such provision will be provided in tandem with the earliest development of housing at Clonburris (say the first few hundred to a thousand houses to be built there) in particular in terms of schools?

REPLY:

Please refer to Headed Items on this agenda for a comprehensive summary of the finalisation of the Clonburris SDZ Planning Scheme 2019 document and the plan making process, in particular the An Bord Pleanala appeal decision. The Clonburris SDZ Planning Scheme 2019 includes a comprehensive Phasing Programme in Section 4. The phasing programme includes critical infrastructure including school sites, parks, community floorspace, opening of Kishogue Station, retail floorspace, fire station site and drainage services. This infrastructure is required to be delivered across the 4 phases in tandem with the construction and occupation of residential units.

SDCC will publish a notice of approval of the Scheme as required under the Planning and Development Act, 2000, as amended, following the briefings of the Clondalkin and Lucan Area Committees (under Headed Items) The Planning Scheme will be available at www.clonburris.ie and at the planning counter in the coming weeks for inspection.
