MOTION NO. 12

MOTION: Councillor M. Johansson

That the Chief Executive begin proceedings for the council to take the small green area at the end of Foxborough Avenue in charge. There are trees planted there that are overgrown and need to be pruned. 

REPORT:

In the normal course of housing estate developments, open spaces are identified early in the process at the planning application stage. These open spaces once developed in accordance the approved landscape plans are taken in charge if a request is received from the developer to do so. In Foxborough estate, the area in question was not identified as public open space and subsequently in the absence of a request from the property owner, was not taken in charge.

Given the current condition of the area and in the absence of a request from the property owner, the area cannot be taken in charge.
