QUESTION: Councillor Joanna Tuffy

To ask the Chief Executive for an update on Esker Cemetery and plans for maintenance including painting of gates and a general update on Council plans for the cemetery

REPLY:

The 2019 Public Realm Improvement Works Programme has made provision for an automated car park vehicle gate and boundary treatment.  Works are currently underway with the automated vehicle gate which will be installed between the cemetery and the car park.   The cemetery gates on the east side of the Lucan Newlands Road need to be replaced and fabrication of the gates will commence later this year.

Routine maintenance operations carried out in the cemetery primarily involve grass cutting and cleaning out the bunkers.
