COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF LUCAN/PALMSERTOWN/FONTHILL AREA COMMITTEE
Tuesday, September 24, 2019
QUESTION NO. 25
QUESTION: Councillor L. O'Toole
To ask the Chief Executive how many Flashing indicator speed signs are in the Lucan area, and how often they are alternated.
Tt was agreed that these mobile signs would be moved around the area. Esker Road outside Finnstown Abbey was requested at previous meetings. Could the Adamstown bridge (R120) be considered for one of these signs.
REPLY:
There are currently 8 No Speed Display Signs in the Lucan/ Palmerstown/ Fonthill Area.
None have been rotated as the emphasise to date has been in providing new signs.
Surveys will be carried out on Esker Road and the R120 in the vicinity of the bridge over Adamastown Avenue to determine the levels of speeding. It should be noted that not all of Esker Road is suitable due to the number of trees.
