QUESTION NO. 7
QUESTION: Councillor Alan Edge
To ask the Chief Executive to indicate the timescale for tree maintenance and stump removal for the Glenvara estates which are not on the current schedule but which are overdue for maintenance and which present numerous hazards, especially given the higher proportion of older residents, many with mobility issues.
REPLY:
In line with the Council's Tree Management Policy 2015-2020 "Living With Trees", the focus of the Tree Maintenance Programme will be on entire roads or whole estates.
Glenvara estate is not included for maintenance on the current Tree Maintenance Programme. However, the estate will be prioritised accordingly as part of a future Tree Maintenance Programme for the estate. In advance of any works being carried out, a full survey of all trees in the estate, will be carried out to inform the scheduling of tree pruning and removal works.
The tree stumps will be listed for removal in the current tree stump removal programme.
