QUESTION: Councillor F. McCarthy

"To ask the Manager to outline whether or not there is a procedure in place to assess stretches of road within the county when a certain number of accidents take place on them over a period of time?"

REPLY:

The Roads & Traffic Department maintains an Accident Database based on information supplied by An Garda Siochana, which records the location and type of accident, time, weather conditions and nature and extent of injuries in each case, and from which accident histories can be generated as may be required from time to time.
