That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to provide funding in the rolling capital programme to extend and add equipment to the new playground in Waterstown Park. This playground has been warmly welcomed by the residents in Palmerstown and it needs to grow to match the size of other playgrounds in regional parks in the County.

REPORT:

The Council's playspace development programme commenced in 2014 and ran to 2018 and has now closed.  No funding has been provided for additional playground or playspace developments in the capital works programme for the 3 year period 2019 to 2021 which was presented to the Council and approved in December 2018.  The request for additional funding for further development of the Waterstown playground facility will be kept under review and can be considered further when the 3 year capital programme is reviewed later in 2019.
