MOTION NO. 21

MOTION: Councillor L. O'Toole

"To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the swimming pool progress and advise if any dates for commencement has been decided. To also advise if any parts of the parks amenities such as existing football clubs, parkrun routes etc will be effected by building works?"

REPORT:

The preferred bidders for the specialist contracts have been identified, it is expected to have the final tender document ready by week beginning 22^nd April for submission to the DTTAS. 

With regard to the effect of the works on the activities in the park, there will be some impact on access to the Park and the path that currently runs beside the river adjacent to the location of the new pool will be out of bounds for health and safety reasons at certain times during the works. There will however be alternative routes provided where existing routes are effected. The carpark will be effected also and a temporary car park will be located in the tennis court area. The tennis courts will be decommissioned.
