MOTION NO. 3
MOTION: Councillor L. O'Toole
"To ask the Chief Executive what measures can be put in place to improve the safety of pedestrians on the Celbridge Road (it gets substantial foot traffic). The footpath is narrow and cars drive very fast. To also advise if the footpath on the R403 between Weston Airport and The Orchard is completed (seems that there is section of the road missing, more likely due to the border between the two authorities). It is quite bizarre/dangerous that it just ends - and that there is a bus stop sitting like an island in the middle of the road."
REPORT:
The footpath and bus stop referred to on the Celbridge Road (between Weston Airport and the Orchard) are located in County Kildare.
There are no residential properties on the section of the R403 that is in SDCC charge. There are no plans at present to provide a footpath along this stretch of road.
