MOTION NO. 4

MOTION: Councillor Emma Hendrick

That this Area Committe calls for an extensive report on Brookfield Youth and Community Centre and for it to be a headed item at March area Committee meeting. If sensitive information is to be discussed a closed meeting should be arranged.

REPORT:

A series of meetings have been held and facilitated by Community Services Dept with all the identifed key strategic partners and community support agencies for the Brookfield area.

A new Management Company has now been formed with SDCC Community Services Dept, South Dublin County Partnership (SDCP), Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education and Training Board (ddletb), Foroige/Tallaght Youth Services and Tallaght Travellers Community Development Project (TTCDP) all taking up Direcor positions on this new company.

The Company will now commence to formalise a plan of action to get the Brookfield Youth and Community Centre up and running again to its full potential.
