MOTION NO. 6

MOTION: Councillor P. Foley

"That the recent brochure on Rathfarnham Stables was very helpful and gave an indication of what could be done with the out buildings in Rathfarnham Castle.  Local residents’ groups have pointed out that this indicative information should be expanded, where possible, to include parking and security facilities that such a project would require. In particular that the project and required parking and security arrangements would be self contained on the site. I understand that this is going to Part 8 but feel some consultations before part 8 would result ultimately in the best plan."

REPORT:

As members are aware the tender process in respect of the proposed uses at Rathfarham Castle failed to identlfy a preferred bidder for the opportunity at the Castle Outbuilds.  We are currently reviewing the process with the consultants with a view to bringing the project back to the market as soon as possible.  I can confirm that members will be kept informed of progress in this regard.

Any proposed development will, of course, be the subject of a Part 8 planning process.
