"That this Area Committee asks the Chief Executive to provide a statement on the logistical arrangements that the Council has put in place for Gaelforce Dublin and to detail what communications have been made to the local communities in Old Bawn, Firhouse, Kiltipper and Bohernabreena who are affected by the event."

REPORT:

Gaelforce Dublin is being organised by Gaelforce Events with Sout Dublin County Council facilitating and promoting the event.

Temporary Road Closures have been granted by the Council for sections of Whitestown Way and Piperstown Road.  These were advertised in the Tallaght Echo on 31st January 2019.  Objections were to be submitted by 5pm Tuesday 5th February 2019, no objections were received.  See links below to both advertisments:

Diversion signage will be erected and local access maintained at all times.  Galeforce Events have contact local residents in the affected areas by of a letter drop.  A notice will also be published on the Council's social media platforms.

An Garda Siochana and the Civil Defence will be in attendance at the race together with race marshals provided by Gaelforce Events.
