MOTION: Councillor E. Higgins

"That this Area Committee asks the Manager to explore the opportunity of running a Darkness Into Light fundraiser for Pieta House in Corkagh and Rathcoole Park in 2019/2020."

REPORT:

The Council can confirm that currently, Pieta House, the Centre for Prevention of Suicide and Self Harm stages an annual "Darkness into Light" event in Tymon Park.

Correspondence has passed between the Council and the Fundraising Executive in regard to the forthcoming 2019 event.

The suitability of Corkagh and Rathcoole Parks for such events will be considered by our Public Realm team, and subject to suitability and if the motion is passed, the sentiments will be conveyed to the Pieta House Fundraising Executive.
