MOTION: Councillor C. Keane

"That the Manager discuss the boundary wall in Palmer Park regarding maintenance requests Our Ref No.9396- update please."

REPORT:

The County Architect reported that a crack developed in the boundary wall referred to that necessitates replacement of the wall. Consulting engineers were appointed to ascess the extent of the works required to resolve the situation and to seek tenders to undertake the works required.

When examining the area to assess the extent of the works required the supervising architect determined that the problem with the wall emanated from works carried out on adjoining land. This land lies at a lower level than the gardens at the rear of the affected dwellings in Palmer Park.

The Council is ongoing discussions with the neighbouring landowners with a view to having appropriate remedial works to be carried out as soon as possible.

A temporary fence has been erected to ensure the security and safety at the location until the works are completed.
