QUESTION NO. 7

QUESTION: Councillor B. Bonner

"To ask the Chief Executive for a report on the house building project in St Cuthbert's Park?"

REPLY:

The construction of 63 homes at St. Cuthbert's Park are due to be delivered at the end of this year. The 63 homes are due to be handed over in one phase, however, this will be kept under review.  As the allocations process will not commence until later in the year, it is difficult to anticipate the make up of each prospective family.  As it is an infill site in a mature estate, it is feeding into an ageing demographic and therefore supplements the existing schools rather than putting pressure on them.  A very rough estimate of the number of children that could be living in the new homes is 150 given the breakdown of the number of homes.  This number needs to be further broken down into the pre-school age, primary school age and secondary school age.
