HEADED ITEM NO. 7
HEADED ITEM: Community
Schools Cross Country programme
REPLY:
This is the 8th year that the Council's Sports and Recreation Office is organising the school's cross country programme. This year we have 68 schools participating, with 50 pupils from each school. The programme is about participation, even though there are 50 pupils from each school there could be another 100 additional pupils training in the school. We have a number of schools again this year that have children with a disability participating, this gives these children the opportunity to compete for their school alongside there class mates.
The dates for the programme are set out below. The programme is delivered with the help of Community staff, staff from other Council departments, the volunteer centre and the Partnership. There will be 3500 children participating on the 16th May 2019.
