MEETING OF CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE

MOTION: Councillor M. Ward

"With the recent change of supply of water to the Clondalkin area from Ballymore Eustace to Leixlip resulting in many complaints from residents including limescale and sediments in the water, this Committee agrees to invite Irish Water to meet the Clondalkin Counsellors for a single item meeting to discuss this issue.

REPORT:

The water supply area from Peamount Reservoir was changed by Irish Water for regional operational reasons in March 2018.  This change meant some areas of Clondalkin and Lucan are now supplied with water from Leixlip water treatment works which would have previously received water from Ballymore-Eustace water treatment works. 

If this motion is passed a letter will be sent to Irish Water requesting a single item meeting to discuss this issue.

Irish Water hold Councillor Clinics regularly in South Dublin. These take place quarterly and the next clinic is arranged for 12:00 on March 11th 2019.
