QUESTION NO. 8

QUESTION: Councillor E. Murphy

"To ask the Chief Executive to provide detail on any preplanning meetings that have taken place in respect to the lands on Scholarstown Road previously owned by the late Former Taoiseach Liam Cosgrave?"

REPLY:

A recent request has been received by the Planning Authority for a section 247 meeting (pre-planning) with the developer under the Strategic Housing Development process as set out in the Planning and Development (Housing) and Residential Tenancies Act, 2016. This is the first stage in the process and is a requirement before the developer can apply to the Board for a pre-planning meeting. Following that further meeting, the Board will decide whether the documentation supplied is sufficient to allow the applicant to make a planning application. When an application is made to the Board, the Planning Authority will submit, as part of the process, a CE Report giving their views on the development and will ascertain and attach the views of the Members to the Report. Members will also have the opportunity to make submissions separately to An Bord Pleánala.
