QUESTION NO. 5
QUESTION: Councillor E. Murphy
"To ask the Chief Executive to clarify the situation with regard to the acquisition of houses in White Pines, Rathfarnham? Can the Council please clarifiy how many houses have been acquired through Part V? Furthermore - can the Council please outline what cost the acquisition of houses outside of the Part V process has cost the Council and what the spend was on each house that has been acquired?"
REPLY:
The Council purchased 26 x 3 bedroom family homes in the White Pines development as part of its housing delivery programme for 2018. A proposal for the acquisition of the homes which was dealt with by the Housing Agency was approved and funded by the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government. The Council has assigned Circle Voluntary Housing, an Approved Housing Body, who will manage the properties on behalf of the Council. The Part V condition for White Pines was satisfied at an earlier stage of development when this site formed part of a much larger development. A full report on housing supply will be made to the Area Committee each quarter as agreed at the Housing SPC.
