COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE
Monday, January 28, 2019
QUESTION NO. 9
QUESTION: Councillor Emma Hendrick
"To ask the Chief Executive how much of the Traveller Accommodation Budget 2018 was spent on waste management?"
REPLY:
"In accordance with South Dublin County Council’s Waste Bye-Laws 2018, regarding the Segregation, Storage, and Presentation of Household and Commercial Waste, the householder is obliged to participate in a waste collection service with an authorised provider.
No major clean ups were organised in 2018 as we had undertaken major clean ups on 5 sites twice in 2017. We are currently preparing the necessary tender documentation to engage a contractor for clean ups on a number of sites thoroughout the County. In addtion, the Council will shortly commence a Pilot Waste Collection Service in the Cherryfield Site."
