COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE
Monday, January 28, 2019
MOTION NO. 5
MOTION: Councillor M. Duff
"That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to carry out remedial works on the surface of the laneway and the strip of tarmac behind the old Castletymon Library building. The laneway surface is now in a dangerous condition and poses a trip hazard to pedestrians and the strip of tarmac at the rear of the building which traverses the two footpaths is overflowing with dumped rubbish, constantly flooded and fills with mud, making passageway to the shopping centre hazardous for the public."
REPORT:
"The area at the rear of the old Castletymon building has been examined recently and was found to be clean with no dumping evident. The paths at the rear of the buildings are in poor condition in places. An item has been included in the draft Improvement Works Programme 2019 for resurfacing of these paths, and this programme is presented under headed item at today's meeting. This programme will be presented to the February meeting of the Council for approval, following which works will be arranged and carried out later in the year.
