QUESTION NO. 4
QUESTION: Councillor L. Dunne
"Notwithstanding, the ongoing issue of illegal dumping across the County, this Area Committee asks that the Chief Executive prioritises the parks with regards to regular cleans ups and asks that priority is given to parks in the Tallaght area that specifically have issues with illegal dumping?"
REPLY:
"The Public Realm Section have an ongoing works programme which includes cleansing, litter picking, grass cutting, playground and park inspections and general landscaping and maintenance. Parks are part of the maintenance programme and are scheduled for general maintenance on a regular basis. In addition the Council employs 14 park rangers to patrol the County's parks, to interact with park users and to feed back useful information with regard to day to day issues in the parks.
Any incidents of illegal dumping should be reported to the Council's customer care for an initial on-site examination for identifying evidence / investigation prior to removal of the dumped material ."
