MOTION: Councillor M. Johansson

"That this committee agree that an accessibility survey needs to be carried out in Ballyowen Park and work carried out to make it accessible. Wheelchair users can't currently access the park unless the large gate is open." 

REPORT:

The four access points into Ballyowen Park have been fitted with vehicle control gates designed to provide universal access for pedestrians, wheelchairs and prams. The opening of each gate takes cognisance of wheelchair access requirements and is constructed in a manner that facilitates it while restricting access for horses and vehicles. Each location will be assessed for suitability to ensure that it is compliant. Any access point that is found to be non-compliant will be modified as required.
