QUESTION NO. 16

QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the Chief Executive to present an update on plans to provide a new Enterprise Innovation Centre in Tallaght; will he detail contacts he has made and the schedule now being followed in respect of the delivery of the Centre and will he make a statement?"

REPLY:

"The pre-qualification tender for the new Innovation Centre was issued on 14th January 2019 with a tender period of one month.

The brief for the innovation centre was previously discussed at the Economic Enterprise and Tourism Development SPC and is split into 3 stages, namely;

1. Advice on specific site selection.
2. Advice on the planning and design of the building on the identified site.
3. Operation and management of the completed Innovation Centre.

On receipt of those submissions we will move to the next phase of the tendering process and it is anticipated that an appointment will be made before May.

Work on stage one will commence immedialtely, which once completed will lead into the design process for the Centre.

It is anticipated that the design process will be completed in late 2019 and that construction could potentially commence in 2020."
