MOTION: Councillor E. Higgins

"That the Area Committee recognises the huge voluntary efforts behind the Christmas lights in Clondalkin, Newcastle, Rathcoole, Saggart and Brittas. These volunteers helped our villages look especially beautiful over the holiday period and their volunteerism brought to life the spirit of Christmas." 

REPORT:

The Council congratulates and thanks all the volunteers involved in the many local community groups across the County including Clondalkin, Newcastle, Rathcoole, Saggart and Brittas who were involved in organising a range of community Christmas celebrations and events in the run up to Christmas. The local Community Development Teams worked with these groups to provide advice, assistance and some funding to help with the delivery of the celebrations. The active volunteerism from these local community groups in these events are heartily commend and will continue to be supported into the future.
