QUESTION: Councillor M. Ward

"To ask the Chief Executive for a report on what Estates are scheduled to have energy upgrades including insulation works in the Clondalkin LEA in 2019?"

REPLY:

For 2019, the Council aims to have all of Phase 1 of the Energy Retro- Fitting Programme completed for social housing stock built prior to 1984. There are a number of one- off houses and small housing estates that were not included in any previous tenders over the years.  We now propose to put all these houses together and run two tenders, 1 for North of the Naas Road and 1 for South of the Naas Road. For the Clondalkin area this would include James Connolly Park, Michael Collins Park, and Nangor Crescent.

The Council is also going to continue to energy upgrade attics in a number of estates who have received partial works in the past. This consists of approximately 8 estates county- wide and includes for the Clondalkin area the following estates, St Marks, Harelawn, Liscarne and Lindisfarne.

These houses will all be surveyed to ensure that the works are deemed necessary. A number of spot surveys within these estates took place in December 2018. All tenants will be informed of when the surveys will take place by letter when the dates have been confirmed.
