It is the Council's intention to mark the centenary of the first Dáil on 21st January 2019 in the County Library, Tallaght with a poster style display. Council libraries are also investigating the possibility of hosting this display and holding talks on the first Dáil early in the new year. Council libraries have already produced a Decade of Centenaries school pack that deals with the War of Independence and Civil War which the Council will circulate again to schools.

Further events will be planned and circulated to elected members as they are finalised over the coming period.
