QUESTION: Councillor M. Duff

"To ask the Chief Executive to make a report and indicate when the LED upgrade of Public lighting in the Brookmount/Glenview/Castles/Balrothery/Tymon/Aongus/Tymonville areas will commence?"

REPLY:

"Brookmount/Glenview/Balrothery/Tymon/Tymonville areas all date from pre 1990.

There remains a serious problem with the upgrading of any PL installations dating pre 1990.  This is a technical regulatory issue that is currently being resolved at a national level.  When a resolution is found, these type of estates will be given our first priority.

Public Lighting Section are unclear what areas Aongus and Castles refer to. On clarification, it can be checked if they are suitable for upgrade."
