QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the Chief Executive to confirm if he has had any contact with the Irish Rugby Football Union and Hibernia REIT in respect of the Lands at Kingswood Heights; will he understand the concern of the community in respect of the news that the Lands have been purchased by Hibernia REIT for 29 million euro and will he make a statement in respect of the whole matter?"

REPLY:

"The Planning Department has met with Hibernia Reit relating to land in their ownership on the Naas Road/Belgard Road. In doing so, Hibernia Reit were advised that any proposal for development relating to extensive housing provision on rurally zoned land would not be in compliance with the current County Development Plan. They were also advised that there are no plans in place to prepare a variation for the County Development Plan in relation to these lands."
