MOTION: Councillor E. Higgins

"That this Committee recognises the enormous achievements of our local Tidy Towns Groups and commends the volunteerism that has ensured our villages look so well and were commended by the National Tidy Towns Competition." 

REPORT:

The Council acknowledges and congratulates all our dedicated Tidy-Town Groups throughout the County on achieving great results in the 60th National Tidy Towns competition. All eight local Tidy Town Groups who entered the competition continued their recent upward trend with increased scores in this year's competition.  We would also like to acknowledge the huge effort and commitment by all the volunteers involved in their local Tidy Towns Groups that provide an ongoing and exceptional contribution to local communities across South Dublin County.

The Community Services team will continue to provide advice, assistance and financial support for the great work carried out by these groups as well as liaising with various sections and departments of the Council on their behalf.
