Cathaoirleach's Business

"That this Area Committee request an update report on the provision for a community space as in the original Integrated Area Plan on Orchard Lane and where the title for ownership is at and when this may be resolved through the Law Department. Has a costing been done to bring unit to a basic standard and when will this be done so that it could be developed into a Senior Citizens Community Hub? Has any thought been given to future use?"

REPORT:

The Council's Law Department are in active communication with the legal representative for the owner and management company of the premises. Further required essential documentation is still outstanding and has been requested to allow the Council take legal title to the facility.  The Council is continuing to endeavour to complete this transaction as soon as possible.

Architectural Services have completed an initial survey on the building but no detailed costings will be completed until the ownership issues are resolved.

The local Community Development team are available to discuss proposals/expressions of interest from interested local community organisations in relation to the future use of the building which it is anticipated will provide space for community activities for Clondalkin village.
