MOTION: Councillor T. Gilligan

"That the Chief Executive gives an update on the Western Orbital route in this electoral area. Can we get a large scale map as any maps we have seen don't give the full picture.  How will the Chief Executive address noise pollution between the road and existing houses/buildings? What is the deadline for this development?"

REPORT:

The County Development Plan 2016-2022 contains an objective to build an interchange at Keating's Park and build a road south of Rathcoole and west of Saggart to join the N81 near the Embankment. North of the N7, there is an objective for the roads route to extend between Greenogue IE and Newcastle Village along agricultural lands to the west of Peamount and across the canal and railway terminating west of Adamstown on the R403 Celbridge Road in the vicinity of Weston Aerodrome.

For each element of this road to be delivered it will be required to go through a vigorous scoping, screening, design and consultation process.

No aspects of the delivery of this road have commenced as yet.
