MOTION: Councillor B. Leech

"To ask the Chief Executive that due to the number of applications by private and Council tenants that this Council should consider the general extinguishment of laneways to the side and rear of houses as a solution to the backlog." 

REPORT: 

"Any applications received for extinguishment of public rights of way are processed as they are received.  Roads Department who administer the process under Section 73 of the Roads Act 1993 currently do not have a backlog of applications on hand."
