QUESTION: Councillor M. Duff

"To ask the Chief Executive to provide an update regarding the new Castletymon Library. When is construction due to start and what time frame is expected for the Library to complete?"

REPLY:

"An open tender competition was held in August 2018 and 5 contractors submitted their tenders, of which 2 failed to qualify at SAQ stage 1.  The tender report has been returned and the successful contractor for the Castletymon Library project will be announced in the next few weeks.  It is anticipated that construction on site will commence before the end of the year with a 52 week build period."
