MOTION: Councillor D. Richardson
"That this Committee asks the Chief Executive for a report on anti-social behaviour in certain estates in Tallaght. What is being done to the tenants in Council houses to stop the gangs taking over in some areas? Can the Chief Executive also report on the commitments from the CEO for a special task force to stop this type of behaviour in our communities."
REPORT:
"A statisitical analysis in respect of incidents of anti-social behaviour related to Council tenanted dwellings reported to South Dublin County Council in the Tallaght area is available under Headed Item 9 of this months Tallaght Area Committee Agenda.
A subcommitte of the Housing Strategic Policy Committee has been establised and a draft Anti-Social Behaviour Strategy is currently under review by the committee members. Once the strategy has been finalised it will be submitted for adoption by the full Council by the end of 2018.
The objective of this strategy is to assist in the creation of and sustainment of a safe and peaceful living environment for the tenants of South Dublin County Council by actively tackling anti-social behaviour through prevention, enforcement, support and rehabilitation.
