QUESTION: Councillor M. Ward

"To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the progress of the agreed energy upgrade including insulation works that are to be carried out in Shancastle and Old Tower in 2018?

REPLY: 

Upgrade works under the Energy Retrofitting programme are being carried out in the Shancastle Estate. Approximately 100 houses in Shancastle qualify for this upgrade.

The Council will shortly commence works to complete the Old Tower Estate, a number of units in this estate were previously upgraded on a pilot basis. The tender process has been completed and a contractor will be on site in the upcoming weeks to start the works. Each eligible house will receive a letter informing them of the contractors name, contact details and works to be undertaken.
