MOTION NO. 25

MOTION: Councillor B. Bonner

"This committee commends the organisers of this Summer's South Dublin 10k and all who took part in the race.  The course was a showcase for the excellent work of the council in this area, taking runners through Corkagh Park, past the Round Tower and through our historic village and along the canal path.  It was very well organised and a very successful event.  This committee calls for the event to be made an annual one." 

REPORT:

The SSE Airtricity South Dublin 10K Race was organised in conjunction with South Dublin's County Promotion Unit.  The event was a huge success whereby nearly 3,000 participants took part in the race.  Due to the success and extremely positive response from the South Dublin 10K Race, SSE Airtricity Dublin Race Series in conjunction with South Dublin’s County Promotion Unit will be hosting this event again in 2019. 

Going forward it is envisaged that this will be an annual event.
