MOTION NO. 27

MOTION: Councillor E. Higgins

"That this committee get a presentation exploring the potential of opening up permiability links between Brownstown, Newcastle and the Canal using the old passageway near the cemetary. This would increase access to the canal and also to Hazelhatch train station."

REPORT:

The Economic, Enterprise and Tourism Development Department will examine this proposal and prepare a report in conjunction with the Land Use Planning and Transport Department.

The matter will also be included for consideration in the project on the potential extension of the Grand Canal Greenway, where a 'benefiting corridor' will be identified as part of the project.
