QUESTION: Councillor E. Murphy

"To ask the Council to please confirm if Fairways, Rathfarnham is listed for consideration in the Tree Programme?"

REPLY:

"Fairways Estate is listed on the Council's 2017-2019 Tree Maintenance Programme for maintenance during 2018. 

In advance of works being carried out, a full survey of all trees in Fairways estate will be carried out to determine the extent of the requirement for tree maintenance.  Arising from the survey, any works considered necessary will be undertaken as part of the 2018 programme of work. 

As the majority of the street trees in Fairways Estate are located in close proximity to overhead electricity wires, it is envisaged that any required works will be undertaken by an arborist suitably qualified in the skills of utility arboriculture and approved by the ESB to undertake tree maintenance on trees in conflict with electricity wires.  A contract is currently in place to enable these works to be completed during 2018."
