QUESTION NO. 1
QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney
"To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the River Poddle Flood Alleviation Scheme and associated works, and to make a statement on the matter?"
REPLY:
"Nicholas O'Dwyer Ltd were appointed as consultants for this scheme and were formally appointed PSDP on 28th March 2018. Nicholas O'Dwyer Ltd are currently working on the preliminary design which includes detailed hydraulic modelling of the river and its catchment. It is planned that the preferred scheme and Environmental Impact Statement will go to public consultation in early Q1 2019.
A Part X planning application will be submitted to An Board Pleanala following the public consultation process. A construction date will be dependent on the decision from the board and the timing of this decision. We would hope to go to construction in 2019.
A press release has been issued on the Poddle Flood Alleviation scheme and is currently on the SDCC web site: http://www.sdublincoco.ie/Media/Item/39102
